2010 Hemingway Village Easter Egg Hunt
The Hemingway Village Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 2:00 PM at Stonefield Park. The park is located at the end of Sweeny Court. Please RSVP if you haven't already done so by clicking on the "Contact Us" link on the left.

HVCA Meeting March 24th
Our next Hemingway Village Civic Association meeting will be at 7PM on Wednesday, March 24th at the Dublin Justice Center. You can view the proposed agenda HERE. If there is anything you want to add to the agenda, please let me know.
We have a lot of upcoming neighborhood activities and it would be great to get input from as many people as we can across Hemingway Village.

Jan 6, 2010 HVCA Meeting Official Minutes

Some of the highlights from the meeting are: - We voted to keep the luminaires going - We have two new officers - We have a new Village Coordinator and a new Activities Coordinator - and a lot more.

Float 2009 Pictures Online!
I got some pictures and put them in the Photo Gallery of the site. Take a look and see parts of the whole process.
Go to "Photo Gallery" from the menu on the left, then choose "Album: Hemingway Village 4th of July Floats", then choose "Album: 2009 4th of July Float". Good stuff.

2009 Hemingway Village Independence Day Parade Float
I wanted to give everyone an update on the float. I've had several
people ask when they could help. I think we're in a place now where we
can use some help. We're not ready to do the pomping yet -- in fact
we just finished laying the foundation of the float on the trailer.
We've got a design, a base for the float and a trailer. We've got to
buy some stuff tomorrow and start working.
We're working on the float at John Livorno's house. He lives at the end of Old Prose Ct.
One
stumbling point has been that John's garage has been full because he's
been trying to finish redoing his deck. He and Steve Friday are going to be working on the railing tomorrow afternoon.
If anyone wants to come over after 1:00 and help John work on his deck,
that would help with the float progress and I'm sure he would
appreciate it.
About 6:30 or 7 PM we're going to get back together and start working o
n the
float again tomorrow.
There will be some work going on during the day with a lot of the heavy
lifting stuff going on later. We'll be following this pattern all week
until Friday when we'll be full-bore trying to finish it up.
If you just want to see the progress, feel free stop by and say hi.

Hemingway News
I've got a few things to share so I thought I'd put them in one article.
Vandalism
After sending my email about cars getting egged on Adventure, I received an amazing amount of feedback about more vandalism occurring in the neighborhood. A lot of cars getting egged, painted on and such. I will call the police and talk to them about stepping up activity in Hemingway. I'm not sure how far I will get but I'll try. I also want to make sure everyone feels empowered themselves to keep an eye out for this type of activity and promptly report it to the police every single time. If we
don't call, the police don't know it's happening.
Do what you can to minimize property damage by keeping your car doors locked and your garage doors closed. The most frequent problems we have in Hemingway are from unlocked cars and open garage doors. If you see your neighbors with their cars or garage doors not safe, don't be afraid to knock on their door and let them know. If we all work together, we can make our neighborhood less of a target.
